Club Committee Members
- Club President: Sana Namazie
- Sana has been an enthusiastic member of the club since she joined a few years ago pitching in with Committee duties and (light!) roles from early on. Her progress within the club has recently inspired her to undertake a presenting role for an anti-poverty campaign organisation while she continues to master competency levels set by the club. She will always have time for a natter so if you have any questions she’ll be there with an ear (or two!).
- Past Club President & Education Officer: James Malone
- James has been an enthusiastic and guiding member of the club since he joined a few years back. An experienced and passionate speaker, James has shared his love of the art by developing the club's training material and setting advanced speaking challenges for members to aspire to. His invaluable and continued contributions to the club as Treasurer and recent President have been key ingredients in the club's continued success.
- Web Master & Secretary: Anna Jackman
- We don’t know where we’d be without Anna. She has done and continues to do almost everything; timing lights, club website, club equipment, club calendar, Treasurer, President - we’d be lost without her (and she knows it)! Her warm-hearted, pragmatic no-nonsense approach to life not only imbues the club with life but enthuses some of the most interesting speeches we hear.
- New Committee Member & Treasurer: Russell Evans
- We all thought Russell was a natural from the start and wondered what he was doing at the club but he insists he has much to learn even though he won the club’s PowerPoint challenge within week’s of joining - Hmmmm. But seriously - we’re delighted that as a relatively new member of the club, with an enviable seafront home, he has volunteered as our new Treasurer and Education Officer.
- New Committee Member & Education Officer: Natalie Pinto
- The thing about Natalie is her quiet confidence and naturally engaging storylines. Underneath a demure and charming persona lies a very wicked and playful sense of humour often found in the Topics Challenges fed to us poor unsuspecting members! We’re glad that Natalie will resist the urge to spend some of her precious time dancing around London for the worthy cause of education officer.
- New Committee Member & Education Officer: James Camp
- James is another relatively new member of the club and now Committee member who is very much at home with his audience. A very enthusiastic and passionate speaker, James just loves the challenge of mastering this art form as much as we enjoy the performance. Always bursting with new ideas and energy to match, his enthusiasm to engage members in creative ways of learning is GOING to get You!
- Committee Member: Martin Quaintance
- I’m pleased to say that this is Martin’s second glorious year as a Committee member. Martin is an experienced speaker and brings a nautical theme to sunny Croydon! A long-standing member of the Club, Martin has brought a wealth of experience and ideas that ensures the club goes from strength to strength. A man of many talents and fingers in many pies we are lucky to see him or else we’d have to don our walking boots where we’d find him leading the residents of Croydon to better health.
- Committee Member: Frank Forster
- Master of the prepared speech, Frank is an artist in many arenas - as a sculptor, a word-smith and in the bar. His ability to spin a yarn into a fascinating vocal journey is the stuff of leg ends. Oops.. legends. Frank's passion is contagious, his smile infectious and his stories outrageous. Come and enjoy listening to a master of the craft. Ghost of John Gielgud eat your heart out!! Second thoughts very messy!
- Committee Member: Gerard Casale
- Gerard joined speakers a few years ago and worked his way from a nervous beginner to the exalted position of being Club President for 2008. He is one of several club members to hold the MasterPiece award and is undisputed champion of the yellow ducks. (ask him about this!). Bringing a selection of new ideas, generous energy and strong commitment to the best club in the District, Gerard is a valued club asset and has now progressed from being an honorary Englishman to being a dual one!
